YFXinnovations was created in June 2006, after being approached by Knowledge East to research and consult on the innovation needs of BAME filmmakers. Despite the plethora of universities offering specialist advice and support, YFXinnovations noted a need among small independent businesses for quick & practical innovation advice which produces a swift return on investment.

Within a few months, a team was put together to create a boutique of specialists offering intellectual property legal advice, designers and university-based knowledge experts who could create and implement the level of innovation that was required. Key clients include Knowledge East, University of East London, Tower Hamlets College and Park Royal Partnership who all required an 'external perspective' on their innovation processes for service and project delivery.
